YRC driver takes unprecedented performance and safety message to Washington

Arthur Cage knows a thing or two about safe driving. A YRC driver since 1973, Cage has logged more than five million accident-free miles. Earlier this month, Cage brought his safety message to Washington, D.C.

Cage addressed members of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) at their annual meeting, and presented U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Hilda Solis with a die-cast replica of a YRC truck. In his remarks, Cage explained he had likely moved tons of NAM members' products, "I did that safely, delivering your shipments on time and intact."

While in Washington, Cage also represented YRC Worldwide to congressmen from his home state of Tennessee, including Rep. Steve Cohen and Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker.

Cage is the first YRC driver to reach the five-million-mile milestone; however, he is not alone in his dedication to safe driving. Among the companies of YRC Worldwide, we count nearly 4,000 active drivers who have achieved one million or more accident-free miles, including seven who have driven over four million accident-free miles:

    Dennis Caldwell, Altoona, Iowa
    Jimmie Day, Tazewell, Tennessee
    Robert Bielamowicz, Coppell, Texas
    Robert Seeman, Lake Park, Georgia
    Thomas McClain, Toledo, Ohio
    Bobby Elrod, Chickamauga, Georgia
    Roger Evans, Tennel Hill, Georgia

YRC Worldwide emphasizes working safely as one of our core values - and it shows in the people, equipment, processes and mindset we bring to our customers' businesses and the roadways we travel.
